CASHEW BADAM HALWA ...........AND A BREAK!!!!!!!!!

Dear friends ,

I am leaving to my mom's place ....will miss all ur yummy delights.......take care..HAPPY NAVARATHIRI to all my friends............

I am extending the date of MY FIRST COOKED FOOD EVENT till october 15 .


INGREDIENTS :

Cashew -- 2 cups
Milk----1/2 litre
Badam -- 2 cups
Sugar as your requirement
Unsalted butter

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Soak cashew and badam in water for 1 hour .
2) Grind them .
3) Boil milk and sugar .
4) When it starts boiling add grinded paste to it .Stir it continuously without any lumps .
5) Add butter and stir it properly till it comes to proper consistency.

Yummy halwa is ready.

MOONG DAL PARATHA AND SPECIAL LUNCHES FOR GUESTS


INGREDIENTS :

Wheat flour -- 1 cup
Salt to taste
Moong dal -- 1 cup
Jeera -- -3 tbsps

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Pressure cook dal with a spoon of oil and turmeric powder for 2 whistles.When the pressure is released , mix jeera to it with little salt.
2) Stuff it between two small chapathi . Finally tawa fry them .

Serve hot with kurma .

ALOO PARATHA , CHILLI PANEER GRAVY AND AWARDS




INGREDIENTS :

Aloo -- 200 gms
Chilli powder -- 3 tsps.
Turmeric powder -- 1 tsp.
Pepper Jeera powder -- 3 tbsps
Salt to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Make soft dough of wheat flour .
2) Peel the skin , and pressure cook potato for 5 whistles .
3) Then mash potato with other ingredients .
4) Roll small balls of dough into chapathi and stuff it with aloo . Roll to paratha and then tawa fry them.

Serve hot with kurma .

PANEER IN THICK TOMATO GRAVY :

INGREDIENTS :

Paneer -- 200 gms
Tomato -- 1
Onion - -1
Chilli powder - -1 tsp
Turmeric powder- -- 1tsp
Salt to taste
Garam masala powder -- 1 tsp

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Grind all the ingredients with little water .
2) Heat oil . Once hot , add the masala and then add panner.
3) Cook till it forms thick gravy .

We had ALOO PARATHA , MOONG DAL PARATHA , FISH CURRY AND FRIED FISH .

PEAS PULAO



INGREDIENTS :

Peas -- 1 cup
Rice -- 1 cup
Cinnamon stick -- 3
Cloves -- 2
Biriyani leaves -- 2
Green chillies -- 2 split
Jeera -- 2 tsps
Salt to taste
Onion -- 1
Ginger - -garlic paste -- 1 tsp

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Heat ghee in a cooker . Add Jeera , Cloves , Cinnamon , Onion , Biriyani leaves . Saute till onion becomes tender .
2) Then add peas , salt and rice with 1 1/2 cup of water for 3 whistles .

Serve hot with kurma .

CAULIFLOWER MANCHURIAN


INGREDIENTS :

Cauliflower -- 1 small flower
Corn flour - 1/4 cup
Maida -- 1/4 cup
Chilli powder--2 tbsps
Salt to taste
Garam masala -- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder -- 1 tsp
Onion -- 1
Tomato -- 1
Green chillies--3

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Make batter with corn flour,maida,chilli powder,turmeric powder , salt and garam masala powder.
2) Dip in the washed florets and deep fry them.
3) For gravy , heat oil . Add chopped onion and saute till tender.
4)Then add chillies and tomato . Saute till it forms thick gravy .
5) Finally add fried florets to the mixture .

Serve hot with rice or roti . This goes to Viki Xavier's Sidedishes For Chapathi.

PANEER CASHEW MASALA


INGREDIENTS :

Onion -- 1
Tomato -- 1
Paneer -- 2oo gms
Cashews --- 15 pieces
Curry leaves
Chilli powder -- 2 tsp
Turmeric powder -- 1 tsp
Garam masala -- 1 tsp
Jeera -- 1 tsp

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Grind tomato,onion,cashews,chilli powder and turmeric powder .
2) Mariante paneer pieces with chilli powder,turmeric powder and salt for 20 minutes .
3) Heat oil . Once hot add a spoon of Jeera and curry leaves . When it splutters , add grinded masala ,salt and little water.
4) Then,add paneer pieces and cover with a lid in slow flame till the oil separates .

BADAM PURI




I learnt this recipe from my marathi friend .

INGREDIENTS:

Badam powder -- 1 1/2 cup
Maida --- 1 cup
Wheat flour-- 1 cup
Milk -- as per requirement
Sugar - 3 cup

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Make sugar syrup and keep aside .
2) Make soft dough with other ingredients .
3)Make small balls of the dough and roll it to puri 's .
4) Apply a spoon of ghee over each puri .
5) Stack 3 puri's and roll it . Then cut into small pieces and deep fry them till golden brown .
6) Then leave them in sugar syrup for 1 hour .

Serve with puri with sugar syrup .
