GARLIC PRAWN FRY


INGREDIENTS: 

Prawns - 300 gms
Onion - 1 big
Garlic cloves - 12 sliced
Green chillies - 3 or 4
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder -1/2 tsp
Salt to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION: 

1) Clean the prawns and marinate it with chilli powder, turmeric powder and Salt for 1 hour.
2) Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, saute sliced onion and garlic cloves till tender. Then add in the sliced chillies.


3) Add the marinated prawn to it and mix it well for few minutes. Cook with a lid and cook till prawn is cooked.


4) Add in Chilli powder, Garam masala powder and Salt. Toss it well, till prawn is roasted well.


 Remove from the flame and Serve Hot.

CHETTINAD PRAWN


INGREDIENTS : 

Prawns - 1 kg 
Garlic cloves- 8 
Onion - 1 cup 
Chilli powder - 2 tsps 
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp 
Tamarind - a small lemon size 
Salt to taste 
Mustard and Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp 
Curry leaves 
Tomato - 2 medium

To grind:

Dry roast coriander seeds - 1 tsp, Jeera - 1 tsp, Dried red chillies- 10, Coconut pieces - 10, Methi seeds- 1/2 tsp. Grind them finely with little water.

METHOD OF PREPARATION : 

1) De-vein and marinate the Prawns with 1 tsp turmeric powder and chilli powder , lemon juice and salt for 1 hour. 

2) Heat oil in a kadai . Once hot , add mustard , fennel seeds . When it splutters , add chopped onion and garlic .Saute till tender. 


3) Then add chopped tomato , curry leaves and salt. 


4) Add all the powders, grinded masala, tamarind water, 1/2 cup water and mix it well. Bring it to boil and cook till the raw small leaves. 


5) Finally, add in the prawns and cook for 5 minutes. Till the prawn is cooked well and the gravy leaves out oil. Garnish it with coriander leaves.

PRAWN CURRY (Village style)


INGREDIENTS :

  • Prawns - 350 gms
  • Tomatoes - 2 small
  • Onion - 1 big 
  • Chilli powder - 4 tsps
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

To grind :

Jeera - 1 tsp
Dried RedChillies - 10
Coconut pieces - 6
Coriander seeds - 2 tsps
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp

Dry roast them and then blend them finely with little water.


METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Clean and devein the prawns and marinate with ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and chilli powder for an hour.


2) Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, saute onion and tomatoes till tender.





3) Add in the grinded masala with little water. Add in Chilli powder, Turmeric powder and Salt.


4) Then, add in the prawns. Bring it to boil, cook till the oil separates out.


Serve hot with Rice or Roti.

ROASTED CHILLI PRAWN

INGREDIENTS :

  • Prawns - 350 gms
  • Green Chillies -6 sliced
  • Onion - 1 big 
  • Chilli sauce - 4 tsps
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 2 tbsps
  • Salt to taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Marinate Prawns with turmeric powder, Chilli sauce and lemon juice with salt for an hour.
2) Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, saute onion and green chillies till tender.
3) Meanwhile, fry prawns is oil for few minutes and keep it aside.
4) Then, mix it in the sauteed onion and add salt. Mix it well.Cook till it thickens and the oil separates out. Prawns will be roasted.
5) Serve hot with Rice.

PRAWN PIZZA


INGREDIENTS :

Plain flour/ All purpose flour - 400 gms
Yogurt- 250 gms
Baking powder- 1 tsp
Mozerella cheese
Chilli sauce and Salt.

For Sauce:

Tomatoes - 4 big
Red pepper - 2
Basil - few
Grounded pepper
Chilli flakes
Salt

For Toppings :

Prawns - 300 gms
Capsicum - 3
Onion - 1 big sliced

METHOD OF PREPARATION :


1) Combine all-purpose flour/plain flour, yogurt, baking powder and oil in a bowl. Knead them well into a soft ball. Cover with a cling film or cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.





2) Divide the dough into two parts. Flatten the dough ball and use a rolling pin to roll into  pizza crust. Place in a lined up baking try.



3) Meanwhile, make the sauce. Soak tomatoes and red pepper in hot water for 20 minutes. Then blend them into a fine puree. Heat pan, add a spoon of oil, blended puree, Pesto sauce, Chilli flakes and herbs, season with black pepper. Simmer for 10 mins or until thickened. Set aside.




4) Preheat the oven to 220C for 5 minutes.

5) Meanwhile, toss the marinated prawns with the Chilli sauce and salt. Keep them aside.Top up the bases with the tomato sauce, sliced capsicum, Onion, Grated Mozerella cheese and the prawns.

6) Bake for 12-18 mins until the crust is crisp and golden.

PRAWN FRIED RICE

INGREDIENTS :
  • Mixed Vegetables - 1 cup
  • Prawns - 500 gms
  • Basmati Rice - 1 cup
  • Spring onion - 1 bunch( finely Chopped)
  • Sweet and Sour chilli sauce - 2 tsps
  • White Pepper powder - 2 tsps
  • Garlic powder - 1 tsp
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste
Marinate the prawns with Chilli sauce, turmeric powder, Salt and Ginger-garlic paste for an hour.


METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Heat oil in a wide pan. Once hot, saute the vegetables till it softens. Meanwhile, cook rice with 1 cup of water with a spoon of oil and keep it aside.
2) In a separate pan, fry finely chopped potatoes tempered with little chilli powder till cooked.


3) Meanwhile, fry prawns in a Tawa till roasted.


4) Once the vegetables are half cooked, add sweet and sour chilli sauce and saute it well.
5) Add chopped cabbage and spring onions to it and get it mixed well. Add little salt.6) Add cooked potatoes, white pepper powder and garlic powder, mix it well till the raw smell leaves.7) Add the fried prawns to it and mix it well. 8) Then add the cooked rice and gently flip it out without breaking the rice. Keep in flame for 5 minutes and then remove it. 
Serve Hot.

PRAWN KARA KULAMBHU




INGREDIENTS :

  • Prawns - 350 gms
  • Garlic cloves - 6 pieces
  • Onion - 1 big 
  • Chilli powder - 4 tsps
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

To grind :

Ginger - a small piece
Garlic - 2 cloves
Coriander seeds - 2 tsps
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp


METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Clean and devein the prawns and marinate with ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and chilli powder for an hour.


2) Boil 2 cups of water in a kadai. Add chilli powder and turmeric powder. Mix it well and bring it to boil. 
3) When it starts boiling, add the grinded paste to it and mix it well. Boil till it thickens.


4) When it thickens, add chopped onion and garlic to it. Boil till it turns soft and tender.



5) Finally, add marinated prawns to it. Add Salt. Cover with a lid and Cook till the oil separates out.



Serve hot with Rice.

PRAWNS CURRY / SHRIMP CURRY AND AN AWARD


INGREDIENTS : 

Prawns - 250 g 
Turmeric powder-1 tsp 
Chilli powder - 3 tbsps 
Salt to taste 
Garam masala-1 tsp 
Curry and coriander leaves 
Onions chopped - 1/2 cup 

FOR MASALA :



Tomato - 1 big ( I used cherry tomatoes -5) 
Onions chopped - 1/2 handful
Ginger - a small piece 
Garlic - 5 
Coconut - 10 pieces 
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp 
Cinnamon sticks - 3 
Cloves - 3 
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp 
Jeera - 1 tsp



METHOD OF PREPARATION : 

1) Marinate shrimp with turmeric powder , chilli powder and salt for 1 hour. 



2) After an hour, shallow fry prawns for 2-3 minutes. 


3) Heat oil in a kadai . Once hot , add chopped onion , curry leaves and saute till tender . 



4) Then, add the grinder masala and saute till the raw smell leaves. Add Garam masala, Turmeric powder, Chilli powder and Salt. Mix it well.


5. Add 1/2 cup of water or as required for your gravy. Bring it to boil. 



6. Once it starts boiling and about to thicken. Add shrimp to it .Cook in slow flame till it thickens and leaves out oil .



Serve hot with Rice /Roti .
