RED RADISH SAMBAR





INGREDIENTS:

Red Radish - 200 gms

Tomato - 5 ripen , grind them finely like a puree .

Toor dal - 1 cup

Onion - 1 cup

Garlic cloves - 7

Mustard , Jeera , Methi seeds - 1 tsp

Sambar powder - 2 tsp

Salt to taste

HingCurry leaves , coriander leaves


METHOD OF PREPARATION :


1) Pressure cook dal with a spoon of oil and turmeric powder for 3-4 whistles.

2) Heat oil . Add spices , once it splutters add chopped onion, garlic and saute till tender.

3) Add 1 chopped tomato and saute till skinny. Then , add sliced radish,curry leaves and saute well till the raw smell leaves .Followed by adding Sambar powder and salt .

4) Add dal   with sufficient water . Mix it up well . Add tomato puree to it. 

5) Cover with a lid and allow to boil till the oil separates.Garnish it with Coriander leaves .

Raddish sambar is a delight. Last I saw the red raddish a decade back! hm...

Shall I borrow some for dinner. I am going to make dosai :p

HOMEMADE MUTTON MASALA POWDER

INGREDIENTS :

Red Chillies - 25 gms
Coriander seeds - 15 gms
Cumin seeds - 10 gms
Black Pepper- 10 gms
Biriyani Leaf- 3
Cloves - 10 gms
Dried and fried Garlic cloves - 10 nos
Cinnamon sticks - few
Staranise - few
Dried Mint - 5 tsps
Kasthuri Methi - few 
Mustard - 1 tsp
Fennel seeds - 5 gms
Kuskus - 1 tsp
Salt

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Dry fry them one by one and grind them to a fine powder with sufficient salt.
2) Store them in an air tight container.
