INIYA TAMIL PUTHANDU NALVAZTHUKKAL -- CHITHIRAI THIRUNAL 2010 WITH MANGO KHEER

Iniya Tamil Puthandu Nalvazthukkal / Happy Tamil New year . This marks the beginning of the Tamil month , Chithirai . From this year it is celebrated as Chithirai thirunal.




The lunch includes Rice , Sambar ,Curd ,Peas and Ladies finger curry , MAngo pachadi , Kheer and Vadai .

MANGO KHEER :




INGREDIENTS :


Mango - 1 ripen
Sugar - 1 cup.
Milk - 1/2 litre
Nuts for garnishing
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp


METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Peel the skin and chopped the mango . Grind the pulp in blender and keep aside.

2) Cook the pulp with little water for 5 - 10 minutes .
3) Boil milk with sugar and cardamom powder , wait till it thickens .
4) While serving , mix milk and mango pulp . Garnish with nuts.

Sending this to kheer festival .

HOMEMADE MUTTON MASALA POWDER

INGREDIENTS :

Red Chillies - 25 gms
Coriander seeds - 15 gms
Cumin seeds - 10 gms
Black Pepper- 10 gms
Biriyani Leaf- 3
Cloves - 10 gms
Dried and fried Garlic cloves - 10 nos
Cinnamon sticks - few
Staranise - few
Dried Mint - 5 tsps
Kasthuri Methi - few 
Mustard - 1 tsp
Fennel seeds - 5 gms
Kuskus - 1 tsp
Salt

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Dry fry them one by one and grind them to a fine powder with sufficient salt.
2) Store them in an air tight container.
