Fish Skillet (Boneless) - 1 kg
Rice - 1 1/2 cups
Coriander leaves,Curry leaves,Biriyani leaves,Mint leaves
Salt to taste
Onion - 1 big sliced
Tomato - 2 big sliced
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Fish masala - 2 tsps
Cinnamon - 3
Cloves - 1 
Green chillies - 4 split

To marinate Fish : 

Chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp 
Lemon - 1 
Fish masala - 2 tsps

To Grind : 

Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Ginger - a small piece
Garlic cloves - 7-8


1) Marinate fish with little of chilli powder , coriander powder , salt, turmeric powder and fish masala for 30 minutes. Then , shallow fry them till done . Don't roast it fully fried.

2) Heat oil or ghee in kadai . Once hot add whole spices, biriyani leaves for 2 minutes , followed by sliced onion and saute till half brown .

3) Then add tomato, coriander leaves, pudina, biriyani masala and split chillies. Saute it till tender . 

4) Add chilli powder, garam masala and fish masala with the grinded masala and Salt.

5) Add in the fried fish to it and cook till fish is well mixed with the masala (5-10) minutes. Then, take fish with masala out.

6) Meanwhile, cook rice and 1 1/2 cups of water in the rice cook.Wait till the rice is half cooked with some left over water.
7) Layer the fish with masala with Rice, then the remaining masala. Cover with a lid and leave it in dum for 20 minutes. 

Remove from the flame and Serve hot with Onion Raitha and Pudina Chutney .
