INGREDIENTS:
- Capsicum –3(big)
- Green chillies - 3
- Onion -1 (big)
- Tomato -1 (big)
- Moong dal – ¼ cup
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Sambar powder –2 tsps
- Jeera - 1 tsp
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Methi seeds - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste.
- Coriander leaves
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
1) Roast dal in a pressure cooker for few minutes and then add sufficient water.
2)Then add chopped tomato, Onion, chopped capsicum and green chillies. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and remove from the flame. Allow the steam to leave. Open the lid, keep the pan and simmer to slow flame.
3) Add sambar powder, turmeric powder and salt. Bring it to boil.
4) Heat oil in a kadai.Add Mustard,Methi seeds, jeeraand curry leaves. Add tadka to the dal. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice.
