BROKEN WHEAT KARA PONGAL


INGREDIENTS :

Broken Wheat - 1 1/2 cup
Moong dal - 2 tbsps
Pepper - 1 1/2 tsp
Jeera - 2 tsps
Curry leaves few
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Ghee
Salt to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Once hot, add pepper, jeera. When it splutters, add curry leaves. 


2) Add 3 cups of water for 1 1/2 cup of broken wheat and moong dal. Then, turmeric powder and Salt. Bring it to boil.


3) When it starts boiling, add the wheat to it. Pressure cook for 2 whistles. 


Serve hot with Sambar or Chutney.
