Here come the recipe ,
Whole Moong dal - 1 cup
Tamarind juice - 1 1/2 cup
Onion - 2 (medium)
Tomato - 2
Jeera - 2 tsps
Coconut - 4 pieces
Sambar powder- 2 tsp
Salt to taste
FOR MASALA :
Tomato - 1
Coconut and 1 tsp Jeera.
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
1) Soak dal for 10 hours . Soak it overnight .Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
2) Meanwhile , heat oil in a kadai . Add mustard and jeera .Once it splutters,add chopped onion and tomato. Fry them till they forms thick gravy.
3) Add curry leaves and grinded masala,tamarind juice,salt and sambar powder . Add little water and allow it to boil.
4) Once it starts boiling , add cooked dal.Cover with a lid,remove from flame once the oil separates . Use the stock of cooked dal also.
Serve hot with rice or Idli.
