MOONG DAL TOMATO SAMBAR



INGREDIENTS :

Moong dal - 1 cup
Tomatoes - 6 medium
Any vegetable - chopped- 1 cup
Onion -  1 big chopped
Sambar powder - 3 tsps
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Green Chillies - 6
Curry and Coriander leaves
Salt to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Dry fry the dal for few minutes and then cook it till soft and tender with a spoon of oil and turmeric powder.

2) Heat oil in a pan. Once hot, add mustard, jeera. When it splutters, add onion and saute till tender and soft.



3) Add the grinded tomatoes, salt, sambar powder and saute till the raw smell leaves.


4. Add Dal to it with little water. Add split green chillies, bring it to boil.


5) Cook till the oil separates out. Add Hing, garnish it with Chopped Coriander leaves.



Serve hot with Rice.
