INGREDIENTS :
Onion - 1
Tamarind - a small lemon size
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Sambar powder - 2 tsp
Mustard and Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp (each)
FOR MASALA :
Tomato - 200 gms
Garlic - 3 cloves
Garlic - 3 cloves
Green Chillies - 3
Kusa kusa(poppy seeds) - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
Coconut pieces -6
Dry roast the coconut pieces and grind to a fine paste with the other ingredients:
METHOD OF PREPARATION :
2) When it splutters, add the chopped onion and saute till tender.
3) Add grinded masala and tamarind water. Mix it well.
4) Add salt , turmeric powder, sambar powder and allow it to boil in a medium flame, till the oil separates.
Garnish it with Coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice.
