BREAD UPMA




INGREDIENTS : 

Whole grain bread - 6
Red Onion - 1
Tomato - 2
Green Chillies - 3
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Mustard and Jeera - 1 tsp each
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Curry and Coriander leaves
Salt to taste


METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Heat oil in a kadai . Once hot , add mustard and Onion . Saute till onion becomes transparent.

2)Add chillies ,ginger and tomato. Saute well till tender .

3) Cut bread to small cubes . Add it to the vegetables. Sprinkle little water to it and add chilli powder , turmeric powder and salt to it . Mix it well. Leave aside for 5 minutes.



Garnish it with Coriander leaves . Serve hot.

CHEESE SALAD SANDWICH


INGREDIENTS : 

Bread 

For Salad : 

Mix sliced cabbage , tomato, carrot, spinach, corn and 2 tbsps of lemon juice .


METHOD  OF PREPARATION : 


1) Toast bread . Apply cheese spread/ Mayonnaise to one side of each bread .



2) Sandwich salad between the bread .


Quick comfort breakfast to go with .

RAVA IDLI


INGREDIENTS :

  • Roasted Rava - 1 cup
  • Curd - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 2 tbsps
  • Salt



METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Soak rava and curd overnight with sufficient water and salt. Leave it in refrigerator.



2) Heat oil in a pan. Roast mustard, jeera, urad dal and green chillies.Mix all the above ingredients and leave for 1 hour aside . 

3) Heat idli pan. Pour in the batter and steam cook idlis .


Serve with Sambar/Chutney .

CHICKEN MASALA


This is my first recipe for the Grand dad event . Both my grandfathers like Chicken . This recipe is from my mother , who makes this very often for them .


INGREDIENTS :

Chicken - 500 gms

For masala :

Pepper , Jeera , Fennel seeds - 1 tsp each
Onion - 1/2 cup
Tomato - 2
Cloves , Cinnamon sticks , Elachi - - 2 each
Cashews - few
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Chicken powder - 1 tsp
Salt

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Marinate the chicken with a spoon of curd, turmeric powder, chilli powder , garam masala and lemon juice for 1 hr .

2) Heat oil . Once hot , add cinnamon,cloves,  biriyani leaves, annasi poo.



3) Add the grinded masala. Saute till the raw smell leaves , add the chicken to it and mix it well . Cook in slow flame till oil separates .



4) Remove from the flame , once the chicken is cooked with masala and forms a thick gravy .Garnish with coriander leaves.

SWEDE FRY




Swede is a variety of Turnip . It is rich in Vitamin -C .

INGREDIENTS :

Chopped Swede - 1 cup
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder - 1tsp
Onion - 1/2 cup
Mustard - 1 tsp
Urat dal - 1 tsp
Curd - 2 tsps .
Salt to taste

METHOD OF PREPARATION :

1) Soak chopped veggie in curd for 10 - 15 minutes .

2) Heat oil in a pan . Once hot , add mustard and urat dal .When it splutters , add onion and saute till tender.


3) Finally , add the veggie , salt , chilli powder, turmeric powder and stir it well .Sprinkle little water and cover with a lid . Cook in slow flame till it is done .

Serve hot with Sambar/Rasam Rice.Linking it up with Krithi's Serve it - Stir fry event .

KOLLU IDLI (Horse gram Idli)
